Poster contest
At this age I won a poster contest about gender equality. I was never great at drawing, but I've always been very creative. This small victory taught me that I had something special to create.

Gabriel Oliveira Carballo is an AI automation developer from Vigo (Galicia, Spain), with a degree in Commerce from the University of Vigo, and the creator of Pol, his animated character.
He started out selling furniture at his mother’s store and creating content on Instagram. During his Erasmus in Setúbal (Portugal) he discovered artificial intelligence and, since 2024, at DPI Estrategia, he has been automating business processes with AI: his first process saves around 80 hours of work a year. He moved from no-code (Make, Power Automate) to code (n8n, Python, TypeScript) and shares what he learns in workshops such as those at Vigo Emprende. He is driven by discipline, creativity and a taste for doing things in a fun way.

At this age I won a poster contest about gender equality. I was never great at drawing, but I've always been very creative. This small victory taught me that I had something special to create.

At this age I met a football coach who taught me that if I wanted to play, I had to be the one who ran the most on the field. Since then I've become obsessed with discipline.

Clueless about what I wanted to do, I enrolled in the Faculty of Commerce at the University of Vigo. I had studied the technology track in high school, but my mother said I had a gift for business and that I could make the most of it in Commerce. She was right; joining this faculty was one of the best decisions of my life.

I start working with my mother at her furniture store, A de Rosita. There I improve my communication skills, learn the art of face-to-face selling and the importance of sacrifice to achieve any goal.

The summer I turned 19, I created an Instagram account to learn how to make content go viral while I kept studying. That's how Good Life Project was born, the first project in my portfolio. Over the following months I learned video editing, digital marketing and how to make content go viral, closing the year with 5,000 followers. Months later the project failed, but it left me with a lot of lessons.

I leave Vigo for my Erasmus in Setúbal, Portugal. On that adventure I meet a professor who makes me fall in love with artificial intelligence. Going to Setúbal was one of the best decisions of my academic life.

That summer I start my internship at DPI Estrategia, a Galician consultancy. I come up with the idea of combining automation with artificial intelligence and launch an innovation project one month after joining.

I finish my first automation process with built-in AI. It saves the company around 80 hours of work a year. I see a lot of future in it and start studying every afternoon.
Little by little I leave no-code platforms behind and start writing code. I start closing projects and running several workflows in production.
I graduate from the Faculty of Commerce at the University of Vigo with an average grade of 8/10 and highest honours (matrícula de honor) on my final degree thesis. The Faculty of Commerce is and always will be home.

I teach an online workshop at Vigo Emprende and we break the attendance record. That year I give two more. I start sharing what I've learned with the community.
